Woman chances to have babies or become pregnant may be lower for those women who got an excessive stress that linked to poor health condition.
274 healthy women ages 18 to 40 years old who were planning to have a baby are get into a research that conducted by the Oxford University. Their saliva were used to measure their stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol.
The highest levels of adrenaline indicator participants called alpha-amylase were 12 percent less likely to get pregnant during the most fertile days in their cycle than women with the lowest levels.
According to BBC News, the journal Fertility and Sterility, reported that the amount of cortisol did not appear to affect conception.
Division chief of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Center at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Dr. William Hurd told AOL Health “There’s no question it’s absolutely what we expected. It makes physiologic sense that if you’re in a stressful situation, it’s not a good time to get pregnant.”
Hurd has found in his practise that women who have difficulty to have babies become stressed, often exacerbating her condition.
Hurd also said “If someone gets into extremely stressed, we have two psychologists in our department that we can send them to.”
As we know from some previous researches that obesity, drinking, smoking and age can all negatively affect a pregnancy. Merely, Oxford University confirm that all those things was anecdotal testify about the affect of stress.
Differentiating between normal stress and the extreme or chronic variety is the key is to acknowledge your body well enough, since everyday tension is a part of our daily life.
“It’s hard to tell for the average person if they’re extremely stressed — anxious, crying, not sleeping well. Therefore, they’ve to figure out if their stress level is elevated and ways to deal with it.”
He suggests “Women should identify the stressors in their lives and work to alleviate them through yoga, acupuncture or relaxation therapy or even psychologist for high level stress women”
“Everyone should be looking for ways to lower stress in their life, since we’re working too many hours and not sleeping enough. It’s good for our physical and mental health.”
