Some women find drinking beer awkward. It is mainly an image thing – “What will people think if they see me stood here nursing a man’s drink?” My advice would be – don’t worry, times have changed!
The face of beer has changed completely in recent times. There was a time when you could pick beer drinkers out of a crowd. Not anymore. Beer drinkers now come in all shapes and sizes.
There is just so much choice out there these days. Beer is no longer limited to old men propping up the bar in a working men’s club with a pint of real ale, or young lads downing pints of lager in your local pub! It is so much more.
Fruit beer has become increasingly popular in the UK. I can hear people saying – “A strawberry beer – are you serious?!” Seriously, you need to give it a try. There are all kinds of different flavours and fruit beer offers a sweeter alternative to traditional beer. They come in a fancy glass too so your image will remain intact!
I can appreciate it can be daunting drinking a pint, or even a half, of lager when you are in your local or out on the town. If you don’t like the idea of standing in a bar with a glass of beer in your hand, a bottle can be a stylish alternative. Fosters Gold is a good example of an attractively packaged refreshing lager which can be drank in any number of social situations.
It is no longer a rarity to see a woman drinking beer, in any form. Women no longer see it as a gassy, boy drink. Beer is versatile and appeals to men and women of all ages.
So next time you are at the bar and fancy a beer – get one. Everybody is doing it!
